Australian Pork Limited provides assistance to producers and industry service providers through Group Demonstration Awards (GDA) to trial technologies and share results with industry. This project investigated the commercially viable Sure-Flo® silo insert designed to improve flow of feed and reduce bridging. Whilst it was clearly evident that the inserts did change the flow patterns within the silo, it did not provide any of the expected benefits. The diet formulations in use during this trial did not cause the flow problems evident on this unit previously, suggesting that diet composition may also be a factor of flow problems.
