This project funded the travel of Professor John Deen (USA) present at the Pig Producers Seminar in Bendigo in March 2012 on “Reducing Piglet Mortality” and aimed to increase awareness of pig producers to the factors predisposing piglets to die pre-weaning. International speakers provided global perspectives on piglet and sow health and welfare and local speakers presented management strategies to control disease and prevent mortality. This report includes speaker details and presentations given on the day together with their key recommendations.
