Dr Mariusz Skorupski delivered a presentation on the latest herd recording and farm management systems for pig breeding farms at a meeting of the Tasmanian Pork Producers in Launceston. Dr Skorupski also visited farms, installed computers, and trained producers to encourage their adoption of the technology. The technology facilitated management of the pig breeding and grower herd records, monitoring of the herd performance and diagnosis and control of production issues, leading to better efficiencies, control of animal health and feed management, and financial gains through better overall management of the farm enterprise.
