Nutrient Mapping of Free Range Pork Production Using Electromagnetic (EM) Technology

This project investigated the environmental impact, in terms of soil nutrient levels and nutrient distribution, of outdoor piggery systems to identify possible management strategies to better manage those nutrients. The results indicated that nutrients were elevated and not evenly distributed in the free-range areas and suggested that nutrients accumulate around sheds, wallows and feeding areas. The study recommended a detailed nutrient management plan involving regular movement to ensure more even distribution.
