This award allowed Dr Greg Cronin to present at the APL/AWSC workshop “Identifying R&D Options for Alternative Farrowing Accommodation”. Dr Cronin presented “An Australian perspective on non-crated farrowing systems”. The workshop was attended by a variety of key industry influencers including pork producers, scientists, animal welfare groups, animal liberation groups and supermarkets, and identified a number of gaps in current knowledge to assist future research and approaches to farrowing accommodation.
