This travel award allowed Dr Jean-Loup Rault to present the results from a research project investigating the effects of human contact with young pigs on their stress response in later life at the Annual Meeting of the International Society of Applied Ethology in Austria. Dr Rault also visited the pig welfare research unit of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA). This report details Dr Rault’s engagement and discussions with international researchers on pig welfare and efforts to initiate and cultivate exchanges with other researchers worldwide.
