Undergraduate research projects play a key role in increasing research sector capacity through assisting young people interested in the pork industry to pursue a project with industry relevance. Projects during 2010/11 investigated feed changes of gestational diets on piglet birthweight, productivity in the UMB farrowing pen compared to conventional farrowing crates, and mastitis, metritis and agalactiae (MMA) risk factors and impact pre/post farrowing.
