This travel award allowed Michael Bertoldo (University of Sydney) to attend the 16th International Congress on Animal Reproduction (ICAR) in Hungary to present research outcomes on identifying sows that are ‘at-risk’ of late pregnancy loss during seasonal infertility. Michael also visited the Department of Production Animal Medicine at the University of Helsinki. The award provided the opportunity to share strategies on the improvement of reproductive efficiency during the seasonal infertility period, a crucial aspect for increasing the Australian pork industry’s efficiency and competitiveness on the international stage.
